1. Purpose and Scope
Caribbean Business Review is owned and published by Joseph Cox & Associates Limited. This policy sets out the principles that govern the independence, integrity, and transparency of all CBR publications, including the Caribbean Business Review programme, the Caribbean Financial Dispatch, CBR Intelligence Notes, and related research and analysis.
2. Editorial Authority
Editorial authority rests solely with the publisher. Decisions on subject matter, guest selection, analytical methodology, findings, and conclusions are made independently. No guest, sponsor, advertiser, partner, or commissioning client may approve, direct, or require alteration of editorial content before or after publication.
3. Guests and Contributors
Guests are invited on the basis of their relevance to the economic, institutional, and policy questions affecting the Caribbean. An appearance on any CBR programme does not constitute endorsement of the guest or the guest’s organisation by CBR, and is not conditional on any commercial arrangement.
4. Sponsorship and Advertising
Sponsorship and advertising revenue supports the production of CBR’s work. Sponsors and advertisers receive only the placements and entitlements specified in their agreements. Commercial support carries no influence over editorial coverage of the sponsor, its sector, or its competitors. Sponsored and partner content is clearly identified as such and distinguished from editorial output.
5. Commissioned and Institutional Work
CBR Intelligence undertakes executive briefings, research summaries, and custom analysis for governments, development institutions, businesses, universities, and professional bodies. Such work is delivered under separate terms of engagement and does not affect the independence, findings, or conclusions of CBR’s published analysis.
6. Evidence and Standards of Analysis
CBR’s analysis is grounded in public data, institutional documents, company disclosures, and other verifiable evidence. Sources are identified wherever practicable. Views expressed in editorial commentary are those of the publisher and are distinguished from reported findings.
7. Conflicts of Interest and Disclosure
Where CBR or its publisher has a commercial relationship with an organisation or individual who is the subject of published analysis, that relationship will be disclosed to the audience.
8. Corrections
Requests to amend published material are limited to errors in names and titles and, in exceptional circumstances, demonstrably incorrect attributions. Discomfort with a disclosure, criticism, finding or conclusion is not grounds for alteration. Corrections will be clearly noted. Corrections and concerns may be submitted to enquiry@josephcox.org and will be acknowledged within 10 working days.
9. Review
This policy is reviewed periodically and may be updated. The current version applies to all content published.
